On February 5, addressing the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin urged to step up efforts to meet the priorities initiated by Kazakhstan this year – the year of Kazakhstan’s Chair of the EAEU, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports.
The heads of government of Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova, the main coordinators of the EAEU and the CIS Executive Committee and representatives of other organisations attended the onsite meeting.
Askar Mamin said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had sent the message to the leaders of EAEU Member States, specifying the key priorities for the period of Kazakhstan’s Chair of the EAEU. They are based on research on the operations of the Eurasian Economic Union for 6 years and the pressing challenges of the current reality.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan said Kazakhstan as the EAEU Chair would focus on diversifying a number of vital areas, in particular fostering industrial cooperation, eliminating barriers in mutual trade, fully implementing the geography of cross-border transport networks and logistics hubs, introducing digital technologies and bridging to foreign markets.
Speaking at a press conference, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan said the Eurasian Economic Commission had approved the action plan for Kazakhstan’s initiatives, which included 15 goals and 84 events. 57 of them are expected to be put into practice this year.
