On January 7, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev congratulated citizens of the country on Orthodox Christmas, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
“I cordially congratulate all Orthodox Christians of the country on Orthodox Christmas,” the President wrote in his message. The leader of Kazakhstan said that this bright religious holiday embodied the centuries-old traditions of kindness, mercy, love and care.
The President stressed that this ancient holy sign contributed to consolidating universal spiritual and moral values and promoted interfaith harmony in a multinational society.
The leader of Kazakhstan said that together with all citizens of the country, Orthodox Christians of Kazakhstan did good deeds, strengthening the state power and uniting the nation, which he viewed as a constructive factor. The leader of Kazakhstan expressed belief that in a truly moving display of solidarity the people made their homeland – Kazakhstan stronger and wished all citizens good health, peace and prosperity.
About 5 million Orthodox Christians live in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
