The President of Turkmenistan gave specific instructions during an online meeting.
On January 4, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with a number of Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and velayat hyakims. The meeting participants reported to the leader of Turkmenistan on the operating condition of heating systems, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.
The high-ranking officials reported that all necessary measures had been taken to ensure the reliable operation of heating systems at low temperatures in all the regions of the country. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the high-ranking officials to check the operating condition of heating systems in residential buildings, schools and kindergartens.
Particular attention was paid to electricity supply of settlements. The leader of Turkmenistan gave specific instructions in this context. The emphasis was also placed on the importance of reliable drinking water and gas supplies.
As was reported, the power outages left Turkmenistan without power for a few hours on December 29, 2020. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov severely reprimanded Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shamuhammet Durdylyev, Minister of Energy Charymyrat Purchekov and Deputy Minister of Energy Batyr Hudayberdyev during the government meeting before New Year celebrations.
