Ambassador tells about development of partnership between Turkmenistan and Belarus

The Belarusian diplomatic representative focused on the sphere of trade and education.

Belarus Ambassador to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty told about the development of relations between the countries during an interview for the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" on July 2. According to him, cooperation is mainly focused on trade and education. 

The topic was raised by the official on the occasion of Belarus Independence Day, which is celebrated on July 3. Beskosty noted that he had a chance to work in many countries, but the Turkmen people seemed to be mentally closer to the Belarusian people. He emphasized that Turkmenistan and Belarus have strong friendly relations.

The ambassador paid special attention to mutually beneficial trade between the states. He emphasized that Belarusian food, medicine, automotive tires, and batteries are sold in the Turkmen market. Beskosty also added that Turkmen clothing, bedding, kitchen, and table linen are popular in Belarus. 

The official highlighted that now 9 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan are studying at Belarusian universities. He also said that due to the pandemic some universities hold consultations for foreigners remotely. 

It must be added that Vyacheslav Beskosty was appointed a diplomatic representative of Belarus in Turkmenistan on September 12, 2019. Prior to that, the official was a Deputy Head of the Department of the CIS of the MFA of the Republic of Belarus.
