Economic growth rate and plans for 2025 discussed in Tajikistan

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade said the President outlined the long-term development priorities of the Republic.

On January 21, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan held a meeting to discuss the Message of President Emomali to Parliament. Minister Zavki Zavkizoda noted the importance of the document as a strategic guideline for reforms and development, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported.

In 2024, Tajikistan’s GDP reached 153.4 billion somoni at a growth rate of 8,4%. Household income per capita increased to 99 billion somoni, which is 3 times higher than that in previous years. Over the past 5 years, the average economic growth rate was 7,7%, and 8,5%, excluding the period of the pandemic. 

The goal for 2025 is to achieve economic growth of at least 8%. The Ministry plans to step up efforts to attract investment and use new sources of growth. Grants and soft loans worth $630 million helped strengthen Tajikistan’s economy last year. Further measures to ensure sustainable development will be taken.
