5,000 Uzbek teachers to upgrade professional skills abroad

Plans for the promotion of higher education and science were announced at the presentation for the President of the Republic.

On January 22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the priorities and objectives in higher education and science. With the aim of promoting science, it is planned to build up the scientific capacity of institutions of higher education to 55%, send 5,000 teachers abroad for advanced training and increase the number of engineering schools to 25, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

It is also planned to increase tenfold the cost of joint projects of institutions of higher education and industrial enterprises. In the coming years, it is planned to upgrade another 1,000 curricular and textbooks.

In 2025, over 2,000 curricular will be upgraded to conform with the practices of major institutions of higher education worldwide, and 45 areas of training will receive international accreditation.

Last year, over 1,200 curricular were upgraded and brought in line with international standards. The new areas of training have been introduced, including renewable energy and engineering disciplines.
