Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to ECO appointed

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree.

On January 17, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree appointing Ylyas Gayipov as Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.

The Economic Cooperation Organization, founded in 1985, is a regional organisation uniting 10 countries, including Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The international organisation is headquartered in Tehran.

Gayipov also holds the post of Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Iran. The diplomat presented his letters of credence to IRI President Masoud Pezeshkian early January this year.
