The State Duma of Russia adopted the Law on ratification of the Russia-Tajikistan agreement on space cooperation at the plenary session. The document, signed in the summer of 2023, envisages implementing joint projects in the peaceful uses of outer space, Sputnik reports.
The key project will be the construction of a station that will receive and process Earth remotely-sensed data in Tajikistan.
According to Deputy Director General of Roscosmos Sergey Saveliev, the contract is expected to be signed in the near future.
The project will be financed from the budget of Tajikistan, while bilateral cooperation involves the use of budget allocations from Roscosmos and extra-budgetary funds from both parties.
