Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev led a delegation to China on a working visit, the press office of the Ministry reported.
The meetings on cooperation in the nuclear energy, oil and gas, electric power and renewable energy sectors with the top managers of the National Energy Administration and the China Atomic Energy Authority took place in Beijing. The Chinese side said they are ready to help Kazakhstan implement the nuclear power plant project.
«Satkaliyev also held talks with one of the short-listed providers of nuclear technology, President of China National Nuclear Corp. Yanfeng Shen,» the press office added.
The delegation visited the Zhangzhou NPP with an HPR-1000 reactor under construction, the Shanghai Electric production sites and a uranium enrichment plant. These steps are aligned with the initiatives to create high-value added clusters outlined in the Address of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev
