Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov put forward the proposals to improve trade and economic cooperation at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. The country is completing the internal procedures to join the key agreements of the Commonwealth, Gazeta.uz reported.
Uzbekistan is taking specific steps to unify excise duty rates and join the Agreement on Rules of Origin.
The Prime Minister called on the partners in the CIS to take adequate action to lift trade restrictions on raw materials and food products.
Particular attention is paid to simplifying access of goods to the CIS markets through coordination of draft agreements on technical barriers and mutual recognition of accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. He also proposed specific measures to stimulate investment until 2030.
