Speaking at the International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the priority of turning to nuclear energy as a solution to climate change and energy shortages, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
In his address, the President emphasised that New Uzbekistan focuses on the use of reliable, safe and cost-effective energy.
The integrated legal framework, including the relevant laws and strategic documents, as well as a professional training system have been created to advance the industry.
Particular attention is given to the construction of small nuclear power plants in accordance with international standards. Cooperation with the IAEA is considered a key factor in the successful implementation of nuclear energy, science and healthcare projects.
