The prospects for deepening economic partnerships were discussed at the meeting of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Austria in Vienna. Sadyr Japarov emphasised the importance of intensifying the activities of the Joint Kyrgyzstan-Austria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation that met on October 30, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in attracting Austrian investment and technology.
President Japarov informed about the adoption of the law on the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs and foreign investors, aimed at creating an enabling investment climate.
The promising areas of cooperation include hydropower, tourism, education, healthcare, digitalisation and mineral resources. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of the tourism industry, including the Kyrgyz Courchevel project that will receive up to 850,000 tourists annually.
