Tajikistan and South Korea strengthen ties in labour migration

The Ministry of Labour of the Republic notes that this will significantly reduce unemployment in the Republic.

On October 31, the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Employment and Labour of South Korea signed the Memorandum of Cooperation that opens up new prospects for labour migration of Tajik citizens. The agreement will start in 2025, when the first workers from Tajikistan will be officially employed at Korean companies, the press office of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan reported.

The document, which meets the interests of the two states, is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in labour migration and legalising the stay of Tajik citizens in Korea.

The Memorandum envisages easing the requirements for recruitment agencies and developing vocational training programmes.

Considerable attention is paid to the qualification of future workers. Given the high demands of the Korean side for the knowledge of language and professional skills, the Ministry of Labour of Tajikistan organised Korean language courses at government institutions that also offer training in in-demand specialties.
