On November 1, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated employees of the banking sector and citizens of the country on the 31st anniversary of the introduction of the national currency — Turkmenistan Manat. The President said the banking sector has turned into one of the fastest developing sectors, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the introduction of Turkmenistan Manat created optimal conditions for the economic development, money circulation and effective implementation of the state monetary and credit policy. The President noted that the introduction of modern digital technologies made it possible to automate and activate the labour-intensive work in the financial and economic system and expand the range of banking services. Furthermore, specialists grow professionally, and citizens improve their financial literacy.
«We will continue to pay special attention to consistently improving the state monetary and credit policy, promoting increased lending to the manufacturing sectors of the national economy, stimulating small-scale businesses, increasing access to credit for the population, setting affordable interest rates, improving the quality of banking services, as well as boosting fruitful cooperation with international financial organisations and widely applying innovative technologies,» the President assured.
