On October 30, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk. The President and the foreign guest exchanged views on key aspects of cooperation, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
The interlocutors noted that trade and economy are the important areas of interstate partnerships. Russia is one the largest trading partners of Turkmenistan. The Intergovernmental Commission successfully coordinates a wide range of aspects of interaction between the countries.
The interlocutors noted the progress in cooperation in science, culture, education and healthcare, as well as the importance of promoting interregional and inter-parliamentary ties. Berdimuhamedov and Overchuk emphasised the mutual readiness to build up multi-vector partnerships that meet the long-term interests of the two states.
