Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea Park Sang-woo held talks in Seoul.
According to the press office of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, the discussion centred on promoting partnerships in the transport sector, including new joint projects and air traffic expansion. Currently, the countries operate 14 passenger and 6 cargo flights per week.
«The flights from Astana and Almaty are operated mainly. It is planned to launch direct flights from Shymkent to South Korea,» the Ministry of Transport, headed by Marat Karabayev, reported.
Karabayev invited the Korean partners to visit Kazakhstan for further discussions. The return visit is expected to explore the possibilities of implementing Urban Air Mobility (UAM) systems in Alatau City, which will turn it into an innovation hub involving Korean investors, including Hyundai Motor Group.
