President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the BRICS+ plenary session in Kazan, the Telegram channel of the President of Kazakhstan reports. In his speech, he noted that this association is becoming a global centre of international interaction, which many countries interested in mutually beneficial cooperation are striving for.
Tokayev emphasised that BRICS has a significant potential for development, uniting states from different continents, strengthening solidarity and effectively using common opportunities.
«BRICS has both the resources and experience to build a future on the principles of shared prosperity, mutual respect and partnerships,» Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.
Tokayev highlighted the importance of enhancing the voices of the Global South in addressing global issues and noted the role of BRICS in this process. The important aspects are to strengthen energy security and combat climate change, he said.
