Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov met with Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiguet to discuss promoting investment cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects for expanding bilateral relations and the activities of the companies with French capital in Kazakhstan.
«France is one of the strategic foreign investors in Kazakhstan’s economy with a total investment exceeding $19 billion since 2005,» the press office quoted Alibek Kuantyrov as saying.
Kazakhstan showed interest in joint projects in the pharmaceutical, agro-industrial and renewable energy sectors.
Sylvain Guiguet confirmed that France is ready to facilitate diversification of Kazakhstan’s economy. The participants of the meeting agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
