15 dump trucks test safety of Kazakhstan’s longest bridge

The Ministry of Transport, headed by Marat Karabayev, reported on the successful completion of the test.

The 1,316-metre two-lane bridge in East Kazakhstan Region across the Bukhtarma water storage reservoir was successfully tested, the press office of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

«This is the longest bridge in Kazakhstan that will be an important link in the regional transport network,» the Ministry, headed by Marat Karabayev, reported.

A column of 15 loaded dump trucks with a total weight of 450 tonnes tested the bridge. Special sensors recorded deformation, vibration and load distribution indicators, confirming the compliance of the bridge with regulatory safety requirements.

The bridge is designed for year-round transport connections between the Zharminsky, Katon-Karagaysky, Kurchumsky, Kokpektinsky, Zaysansky and Altay districts, ensuring an uninterrupted traffic flow and improving connectivity between the regions.
