Tajikistan plans to export minerals and dried fruits to Thailand

The President of Tajikistan held an official meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand to discuss the prospects for promoting partnerships.

On October 3, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra held a meeting in Qatar. The interlocutors discussed expanding and deepening bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Thailand, in particular in the economic sector, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan and Thailand have positive experience of cooperation, which facilitates further interaction. The agenda of the meeting focused on strengthening ties in the trade, economic, investment, agricultural, transport and industrial sectors.

The parties discussed exports of various goods, including dried fruits and minerals from Tajikistan to Thailand, as well as imports of electronic goods, machinery and equipment to Tajikistan.

The issues under discussion included the launch of direct flights and visa-free entry for citizens of the two countries, which will significantly simplify travel and boost tourism ties.

The parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in education and cultural events that can strengthen intercultural ties and foster mutual understanding between the two peoples.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan invited Paetongtarn Shinawatra to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.
