Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan expresses dissatisfaction with pace of digitalisation

He emphasised that measures will be taken against all the ministers who fail to make tangible progress in this area.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting on the implementation of the 2024-2028 digital transformation action plan. He expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of implementation of the planned measures, the press office of the Government of the Republic reported.

The digital transformation concept envisages taking 49 actions in 2024, but only 3 of them have been completed by early October, while the rest are still under implementation.

Zhaparov emphasised that digitalisation is one of the key state policy priorities. He said the successful implementation of this programme will dramatically improve efficiency, transparency and access to public services. He added that the introduction of digital technologies in various spheres of life can have a positive impact on improving the quality of life of the people.

Despite the measures taken to speed up digital transformation, Zhaparov expressed concern about the lack of tangible results. He noted that the low pace of implementation hinders the development of the country and does not meet the expectations of the people. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers called on the ministries to focus on digital transformation, noting that measures will be taken against the high-0ranking officials who fail to fulfil the instructions.
