The Centre for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Port Investment Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea signed a framework feasibility study agreement for the construction of the dry port and inland terminals in Syrdarya and Jizzakh Regions, the press office of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported.
The parties discussed major aspects of cooperation in developing and modernising logistics infrastructure. The 13-month project started on August 9, 2024 and to be completed in September 2025.
In March this year, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea initiated a request to develop a feasibility study for an inland terminal in Syrdarya and Jizzakh Regions.
The inland port project is being implemented under the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026 State Programme aimed at boosting international trade and attracting foreign investment. It was initiated by President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
