On October 2, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Minister of State for International Cooperation of Qatar and Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Fund for Development Lolwah Al-Khater held a meeting in Doha. The interlocutors discussed key aspects of strengthening partnerships between Tajikistan and the Qatar Fund, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
The agenda focused on Qatari investments in various sectors of Tajikistan’s economy, including energy, industry and agriculture. Particular attention was paid to attracting Qatari investments in mineral extraction and processing projects, as well as the establishment of enterprises that will manufacture and export eco-friendly agricultural products and high-quality drinking water for Qatar.
The parties considered the participation of Qatari investors in tourism and pharmaceutical infrastructure development projects in Tajikistan. The key initiatives included the establishment of the Joint Economic and Investment Fund to finance priority projects.
