President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon initiated the preparation of Tajikistan’s socioeconomic growth forecast for 2026 at the recent government meeting. It is planned to submit this document for consideration in the summer of 2025, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Rahmon tasked the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to set the main targets of the forecast for 2027-2028. He emphasised that the draft forecast should be submitted to the Government for consideration next year.
Other important issues, including vocational education, preparations for the winter season, the creation of food reserves and the events marking the 35th anniversary of independence, were discussed during the meeting.
Particular attention was paid to the horticulture, viticulture and citrus farming programme for 2025-2029. The programme is aimed at increasing agricultural production, ensuring food security and provide processing enterprises with raw materials. Rahmon emphasised the need to implement this programme as soon as possible.
