On September 20, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree on a pardon of convicts in honour of the 33rd anniversary of independence, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
The people pardoned under the Decree will be released from further serving the main imprisonment sentence, as well as from additional punishment in the form of the obligation to live in a certain area.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree guided by the principles of mercy and humanism bequeathed by our great ancestors to strengthen the unity and cohesion of the Turkmen society.
