Kyrgyzstan to receive 200 million yuan from China

The funds will be used to implement future commitments under the cooperation agreement.

Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting with Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui in Beijing, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Following the meeting, Bakyt Torobaev and Luo Zhaohui signed an agreement on gratuitous aid between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China. In accordance with this agreement, China will earmark 200 million yuan on a gratuitous basis to implement future joint projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The grant will be provided under the cooperation agreement on bilateral technical and economic assistance projects aimed at promoting friendly relations and strengthening technical and economic partnerships between the two countries.

The interlocutors discussed current aspects of Kyrgyzstan-China cooperation, the fulfilment of the tasks set by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and the implementation of bilateral agreements.

Particular attention was paid to the progress of the implementation of projects included in the list of grant-making priorities of the Government of China.
