Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Musayev said over 800 Uzbek nurses will go to work at hospitals in Germany under the intergovernmental agreement on comprehensive partnerships in migration and mobility signed recently with Germany, Gazeta.uz reports.
Musayev said 400 nurses have arrived in Germany, and the rest are taking the language exams. He noted that the minimum salary of these specialists is EUR 2,200.
Musayev noted that Germany is facing a labour shortage in the healthcare and transport sectors. To this end, German language courses will be conducted in Uzbekistan for those willing to work in Germany. Those who completed the courses and passed the exams will travel to Germany in an orderly manner.
The Minister emphasised that this agreement is the first step to facilitate transparent and well-managed migration flows between Germany and Uzbekistan. He added that Tashkent has concluded agreements with the German railway company Deutsche Bahn on training bus and train drivers and Globogate on training nurses.
The Minister said Uzbek specialists will be assisted in studying high technologies in mechanical engineering, transport and medicine in Germany.
