Kyrgyzstan and Russia sign agreements worth $1 billion at forums

The RKDF Chairman noted that over the past 7 years the forums have become the flagship events in the Republic in terms of the level of discussion.

Speaking at the plenary session of the VI Kyrgyzstan-Russia Economic Forum, Chairman of the Board of the Russia-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund (RKDF) Artem Novikov reported that over the past 7 years Russia and the Kyrgyz Republic have signed agreements worth $1 billion at the forums, the press office of the Fund reported.

Novikov added that the first Kyrgyzstan-Russia Forum was set up as a communication platform for Kyrgyz and Russian businesses. However, over time, the event has become one of the flagship events in Kyrgyzstan in terms of the level of discussion, the representation of delegations and the number of documents signed.

The meeting focused on developing new partnership strategies, identifying growth points and increasing the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan for Russian businesses. Particular attention was paid to the measures to support and encourage entrepreneurship, as well as the role of financial institutions in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

“New times - new opportunities. Following today’s event alone, agreements worth over $200 million will be signed,” he emphasised.
