On September 12, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the heads and activists in Lakhsh district as part of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of state independence of the Republic. The President reviewed the development of Lakhsh district over the past decades, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Emomali Rahmon noted that the authorities attach special importance to the development of remote mountainous areas. Over the years, the Government has allocated more than 1.7 billion somoni to support the economic sectors and improve the standard of living in Lakhsh district. Of this amount, more than 425 million somoni were earmarked from the State Budget to cover the local expenses.
Over the past 33 years, 22 national investment projects worth over 700 million somoni have been implemented in Lakhsh. These projects envisaged building and renovating schools, improving health care quality, building and reconstructing roads, boosting agriculture and protecting the environment. The President added that 4 projects, for which 14 million somoni have been allocated, are being implemented.
It was noted that 124 facilities in Lakhsh district are to be built and reconstructed, and construction and reconstruction works on 45 facilities have been completed.
