On September 11, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the ground-breaking and opening ceremonies of the energy, transport, communications and logistics facilities jointly with Afghanistan during his working trip to Mary region. Acting Prime Minister of Afghanistan Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund attended the festive events, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
The opening ceremony of the 177-metre Serhetabat-Turgundi steel bridge and the ground-breaking ceremonies of the Shatlyk-1 gas compressor station, the Serhetabat-Herat section, which is an important stage in the implementation of the TAPI transnational gas pipeline project, the Serhetabat-Herat fibre optic line, a warehouse complex in the dry port of the Turgundi railway station and the Turgundi-Sanabar section took place.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund launched the Nur al-Jihad power plant as part of the first stage of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line project.
