In 2023, Tajikistan’s industrial output increased by 12%. This figure exceeds the results of neighbouring countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In 2024, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic forecasts industrial output to up 21.2%, Sputnik reports.
In 2024, 251 new industrial enterprises have been put into operation, creating about 2,000 jobs in the country. Many of them specialise in manufacturing everyday goods.
Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir noted that the new enterprises have manufactured goods worth 60 million somoni.
The Tajik Aluminium Company (TALCO) has played a major role in boosting Tajikistan’s economic growth by increasing aluminium production by 24.7% in the first half of 2024. This figure is expected to up 30% by the end of the year. TALCO’s exports accounts for 98%, which makes it the largest exporter in the country.
