On September 8, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended the opening ceremonies of new Sanoati Asht production facilities in Asht during his trip to the regions of the Republic. The first-ever hosiery factory, a sewing factory and a shoe workshop were put into operation, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
The sewing factory is equipped with 33 modern machines and creates 35 jobs for local women and girls. It has a broad product range, including women’s clothing, school uniform, overall wear and sportswear.
The hosiery factory, which is the first of its kind in the region, is equipped with 100 machines that will manufacture up to 20,00 pairs of socks per day. The annual production volume exceeds 6 million pairs.
The shoe shop has an important role to play in meeting the demand of the local footwear market. It is equipped with modern sewing, processing, shaping, leather cutting and polishing machines. The shoe workshop will use natural materials in production.
Emomali Rahmon visited an exhibition of the Sanoati Asht enterprises and workshops. It featured apparel products, school uniforms, socks and various shoe models. The President noted that a priority task is to increase the production and range of domestic goods, which will allow supplying the domestic market and enhancing the export potential.
