Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov and UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan Mohamed Yahya co-chaired a briefing for foreign diplomats accredited in Islamabad. The participants discussed the work being done by the UN agencies to support the efforts of the Government and the people of Pakistan, the press office of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan reported.
In his speech, Atajan Movlamov emphasised that the United Nations is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan. The country is set to further strengthen cooperation with the international organisation in a wide range of areas. The Ambassador noted that Ashgabat stands for the enhanced role of the UN in ensuring peace and security and addressing challenges facing the world community.
The UN representatives informed about the ongoing efforts to improve the current situation in the education sector. They also spoke about the impacts of monsoon rains on Pakistan’s economy and agriculture.
