President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting on the social and economic development of the country and the medium-term forecasts of the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the press office of Akorda, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Head of the Presidential Administration Aibek Dadebay and the representatives of the National Bank and the Supreme Audit Chamber attended the meeting.
The President was informed about the key social and economic indicators and the execution of the State Budget for first seven months of the year. The Government forecasts economic growth to stand at 5,6% and inflation to fall to 5.5-7.5% in 2025.
«The President instructed the Government to improve the quality of macroeconomic and state budget forecasting,» the press office reported.
Tokayev also instructed the Government to set up clear mechanisms for prioritising government spending at all levels and step up the fight against the shadow economy.
