Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov held a working meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Ibrahim Yumaklı, the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports.
Discussing strengthening bilateral relations in the agricultural sector, the interlocutors noted that bilateral agricultural trade grew by 13% in 2023. Traditionally, Kazakhstan exports crops to Turkey. After Turkey lifted restrictions on livestock products in June 2024, Kazakh producers are ready to export meat products.
«We expect a good harvest this year, so we need to work further to boost exports of high-quality agricultural products,» Aidarbek Saparov emphasised.
The parties signed the documents worth $2 billion on investment and trade in agricultural goods during the visit. The projects include the construction of greenhouses, wheat processing factories and vegetable storage units.
The agreements on scientific cooperation were signed with the major agricultural institutions in Turkey. Turkey announced its readiness to further strengthen cooperation, highlighting the coincidence of strategic priorities of the agricultural policies of the two countries.
