The XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris that lasted over 2 weeks have come to an end. The Kazakhstan team won 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals, ranking 43rd in the overall medal standings of the main sporting event, which is held every 4 years, the press office of the Ministry of Sports of Kazakhstan reports.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev noted that the team improved its results at the Paris Olympic Games compared to the Tokyo Olympics and expressed belief that it will perform successfully at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
“Certainty, our athletes could have shown even higher results, but nevertheless, we learned the lessons of the Tokyo Olympic Games,” Marzhikpayev said.
78 athletes from Kazakhstan competed in 25 sports, in which 54 they debuted at the Olympic Games. Athletes from 91 countries won medals.
