Japanese businesses have invested $7.8 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov met with the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic to discuss trade and economic cooperation.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov met with Ambassador of Japan to the Republic Jun Yamada to discuss trade and economic cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.

Kuantyrov expressed belief in Kazakhstan’s potential for Japan’s investments in such areas as transport, mining, metallurgy, renewable energy and digitalisation. He emphasised that the Government is ready to support Japanese companies.

«Japanese companies have invested over $7.8 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy for 18 years, and we see great potential in expanding cooperation in key sectors of the economy,» the Deputy Minister said.

Ambassador Jun Yamada noted the prospects of cooperation in energy, transport, infrastructure and digitalisation in logistics.
