On August 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov met with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique Manalo in Manila. Following the talks, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on political consultations, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The diplomats confirmed that the two countries intend to intensify bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields with an emphasis on the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, and improve the contractual legal framework.
A meeting with Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the friendly country Jude Aguilar took place during the visit of the Turkmen delegation to the Philippines. The parties noted that interstate relations are based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and equality. In this regard, the interlocutors expressed belief that bilateral ties will continue to strengthen.
