Chairman of the Government of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting with the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at which the officials reported on the work done for the past 6 months. Zhaparov emphasised that diplomats should work more intensively to attract foreign investment into Kyrgyzstan’s economy, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Chairman of the Government said it is imperative for the progress of Kyrgyzstan that diplomats contribute to increasing goods exports.
Zhaparov said economic diplomacy is of particular importance in modern realities, and ambassadors should focus even more on attracting foreign capital.
Zhaparov highlighted the need to seek funding for the ambitious projects: from infrastructure to renewable energy, the construction of large-scale trade and logistics complexes, the establishment of agricultural production, processing and storage centres and the modernisation of international airports in Bishkek and Osh.
