Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbaeva met with Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership on Global Infrastructure Investment Helaina Matza in Astana at the end of last week, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports.
Nurbaeva highlighted the prospects for developing Kazakhstan’s transport infrastructure, as well as renewable energy, critical minerals and agricultural projects.
«The Deputy Minister emphasised that Central Asia has great potential for long-term partnerships in these fields, noting that Kazakhstan is ready to cooperate with the United States to achieve common goals,» the press office reports.
Helaina Matza stated that the G7 countries intend to invest up to $200 billion in infrastructure development in Central Asia, and Kazakhstan is one of the investment priorities.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to foster cooperation to implement major infrastructure projects and strengthen economic ties.
