Uzbek capital hosts Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum

It was noted at the large-scale event that relations between the two countries have shown significant growth in recent years.

Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum that brought together officials, heads of regional organisations, industry associations and over 350 entrepreneurs from the two countries, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Khojaev emphasised that relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan continue to strengthen. This became possible thanks to the continuous dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, he said.

It was noted that trade between the two countries exceeded $1 billion, and the authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are set to ramp up mutual supplies of a wide range of goods, such as textiles, plastics, shoes, building materials, fertilizers, household appliances, food products and IT services.

Following the forum, 20 agreements, memoranda and trade contracts were concluded in various sectors, such as food production, construction materials, the creation of a logistics centre, waste disposal, mineral exploration, coal supply, IT services, supplies of electrical equipment and agricultural products.
