Investment cooperation identified as crucial for Kazakhstan-Turkey relations

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbayeva and the Turkish investors discussed the current state and challenges facing ongoing and planned projects in Kazakhstan.

With the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul and Kazakh Invest NC JSC, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbaeva held talks with 35 large Turkish holdings to discuss investment opportunities in the priority sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy, the press office of the diplomatic department reports.

Nurbaeva and the Turkish investors discussed the current state and challenges facing ongoing and planned projects in Kazakhstan during the bilateral meetings.

«The main driver of economic relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey is investment cooperation. Currently, one of the Government’s crucial tasks is to attract investment,» Nazira Nurbaeva noted.

Nurbaeva emphasised the importance of attracting investment to diversify the economy, noting that Turkish investments are mainly oriented towards the manufacturing sector.

The Turkish investors highly evaluated the investment potential of Kazakhstan and the specific measures taken by the Government, noting that they are ready to invest in various sectors. These include the automotive components manufacturing, mechanical engineering, building materials, metallurgical, chemical, agrochemical, agricultural and light industries.
