Two members of the Turkmenistan national team, who will represent their country in the swimming events at the Summer Olympics in Paris, have been announced, the IIC information portal reported.
International Master of Sports Musa Jalaev and Master of Sports Ainura Primova will defend the honour of their country at the world’s foremost sports competitions.
The record holder in several disciplines Musa Jalaev studies at the International Oil and Gas University. He scored victories in the 200 m and 800 m freestyle events and the 100 m butterfly event of the Turkmenistan Championships. He will compete in the preliminary heats of the 100 m freestyle event of the Olympic Games.
A senior schoolgirl Ainura Primova will be one of the youngest athletes at the Olympic Games; she is 17 years old. She showed the best results in the 50 m and 100 m freestyle events and the 100 m and 200 m backstroke events of the Turkmenistan Championships. Ainura will compete in the 100 m backstroke event in Paris.
Currently, the athletes of the national swimming team are having training sessions in Georgia under the supervision of the head coach Dmitry Novikov.
