President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov completed his visit to Azerbaijan, where he attended the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha. Speaking at the event, the President raised such important topics as the need to improve water use efficiency, the introduction of energy efficient technologies and the expansion of transport cooperation, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.
In his speech, Sadyr Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan is experiencing the severe impacts of global warming, manifested by shrinking glaciers, the growing frequency of dry periods and an increasing number of natural disasters.
He mentioned the establishment of a regional centre for energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies in Bishkek. He called on the Member States to implement joint renewable energy projects.
Sadyr Japarov approved the signing of agreements on international multimodal transport among the OTS Member States, considering this an important step to strengthen cooperation in the transport sector. The President called on the participants to develop and sign a programme on transport cooperation.
