President Xi Jinping visits Tajikistan

High-level meetings and talks are to take place, and important documents are to be signed during the visit.

On July 4, Chinese leader Xi Jinping arrived in Tajikistan to meet with President of the Republic Emomali Rahmon. They discussed the prospects for deepening and promoting cooperation between the two countries, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Rahmon highlighted the importance of maintaining friendly relations and win-win cooperation between Tajikistan and China, noting an increase in bilateral trade and the possibility of expanding areas of partnerships.

The talks focused on increasing Chinese investment in Tajikistan’s industrial, energy and transport sectors. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for joining hands on green technology, including electric vehicles and solar panel manufacturing.

The parties touched upon the ideas of deepening cooperation in education, health care and culture, as well as plans on cultural exchange. They emphasised readiness to intensify joint efforts to counter extremism and crime.
