On July 4, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev in Astana. Hero-Arkadag arrived in the friendly country to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of aspects of Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan cooperation. Berdimuhamedov and Tokayev specified the key areas of interaction, taking into account modern realities, existing potential and plans for the future.
They underscored the success and effectiveness of partnerships in a bilateral format, as well as within the authoritative international organisations. The interlocutors emphasised that the countries demonstrate coinciding or similar views on current issues on the regional and global agenda related to achieving global peace, security and sustainable development.
