President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev delivered a speech at the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State, which took place at the Palace of Independence on Thursday, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
Tokayev summed up Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship in the SCO, noting that through the active support of all the participants, about 150 events at various levels, including digital, energy and business forums and the SCO Youth Council, have been held during this period. He emphasised that 60 new documents have replenished the contractual framework.
«The circle of international organisations — partners of the SCO has expanded. The Special Working Group on Promoting Investments has resumed the activities. The transition to settlements in national currencies has gained positive momentum,» Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.
The President noted that all these measures have contributed to the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation within the SCO. He stated that Kazakhstan has achieved all the goals and objectives set at the previous Summit and expressed gratitude to all the countries for their support and contribution to the implementation of Kazakhstan’s initiatives.
