Leaders of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan meet in Astana

Emomali Rahmon and Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev discussed the prospects of cooperation.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held official talks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Astana. The agenda focused on the prospects of bilateral cooperation in various spheres, including trade, economy, agriculture and energy, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Rahmon and Tokayev discussed important aspects of developing bilateral partnerships and considered current international and regional issues. They confirmed readiness to promote partnerships at all levels to strengthen cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which will be held in Dushanbe.

The two leaders discussed ongoing digital transformation and the allocation of grants for training Tajik specialists in information technology.
