Tajikistan and Belarus forge ecological cooperation

The two countries plan to implement the principles of green economy, reduce plastic use and better manage waste.

The Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus decided to strengthen partnerships in environmental protection by signing a Memorandum of Understanding, the press office of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan reported.

The signing ceremony took place at the 3rd High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development», 2018-2028.

Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan Bakhodur Sheralizoda met with Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Sergei Maslyakov to discuss further cooperation.

The meeting focused on the prospects for promoting partnerships, adopting the principles of green economy, ensuring effective waste management and reducing plastic use in various sectors. The interlocutors discussed the exchange of experience between the republics on the protection of rare plant and animal species in danger of extinction.
