On June 7, Turkey lifted restrictions that hindered the entry of products from Kazakhstan to Turkish market, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reports.
These are the bans on the importation of animal and poultry products from Kazakhstan, which were imposed in 2005, 2016 and 2022 to prevent the spread of various diseases.
«I would like to note that the PRC and the Russian Federation have lifted such restrictions on Kazakhstan this year,» Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov reported in March.
The decision to lift the ban followed bilateral inter-ministerial talks, which were held at the 91st General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) in May this year. The Turkish side recognised Kazakhstan’s efforts to eradicate the WOAH reportable diseases.
Minister Aidarbek Saparov will discuss veterinary requirements to promote animal and poultry products during his visit to Turkey in August.
